With all the talk about steroid use and who is or is not taking any performance enhancing drugs. Steroid use is all around baseball. The integrity of the game and the actual validity of all the records being broken as of late are being tested. Would these records had been broken if the ?performance enhancing? drugs were not used? Probably not! Someone should be investigating players and their Doctors and their personal trainers who have given steroids to many of our superstars. If they have taken steroids to become Hulk-like, then I definitely believe that there should be a huge asterisk next to their records stating the real reason they were achieved. I still believe the best way to quell all the talk would be if the players test out to prove their innocence. Sammy Sosa was asked last year to voluntarily test for performance enhancing drugs and he refused but still declares he has not used any drugs of this kind. YEAH RIGHT! Barry Bonds, Gary Sheffield, Jason Giambi, Sammy Sosa and many others could all do a lot for baseball if they were tested and found to be free of all illegal steroids in the system. But we all know that won?t happen. It appears to me that the same drug that has brought superstar status to these players just may become their downfall. I know that I have lost a lot of respect for both the players and the game of baseball in general. I think it?s about time that the MLPA comes clean and gets this issue addressed so we really can focus on the game itself!
